Tasmania has some of the most mouth-watering, fresh and delicious produce in all of Australia. Thankfully the wineries of the valley fully embrace this with a range of amazing food options available showcasing Tasmanian produce in its absolute best form. From famous scallops to amazingly fresh fruit and flavour bursting vegetables the produce reflects the clean air, beautiful water and the green rolling pastures of Northern Tasmania.
Our first stop on our foodie journey is at Evenfall, a recently opened winery with a strong focus on providing amazing fresh produce. With produce ranging from cured plates with produce from nearby Fork It Farm, fresh locally sourced seafood and local vegetables the food here is an equal match for the amazing quality of wines on offer.
The menu comes from Tasmania’s farmer’s markets, fishing boats and oyster leases, country fields and the wondrous meanderings of spirited travellers with passionate palates.

Next on our food journey is Clover Hill, famous for their Methode Traditionnelle sparkling wines of upmost quality which can be paired with the Clover’s Kitchen Multi-Course Dining Experience. Utilising seasonal and locally sourced produce, their seasonal menu is created to match and enhance their range of exceptional wines. Clover Hill Kitchen’s signature methods for producing such rich, complex flavour profiles is through preserving and pickling. With the Tasmanian climate being as fruitful and lush as it is, they take full advantage of the bountiful growing season, letting nothing go to waste. Bookings are essential for this unique experience.

Just down the road from Clover Hill, is Nadines at Pipers Brook Vineyard which highlights the local Tasmanian produce in perfect symmetry with the Pipers wines. With dishes ranging from local Pork Belly, Tasmanian Seafood and incredible Tasmanian Grazing platters featuring a range of local producers you are certain to find an option which satisfies all travelling palates.

Our final stop on our journey is at Timbre, located at the picturesque location of Velo Wines overlooking vineyards and the Tamar Valley off into the distance. First opened in 2016, Timbre is a space that represents the community of West Tamar and Tasmania. Both in the form of the food on offer, but also delivering authentic Tasmanian hospitality – a relaxed, informal fun venue which offers a range of ultra-seasonal wood fired dishes. From plates of delicious fresh local produce to banquets which allow you to sample fresh produce from all over Tasmania, Timbre is a perfect location for a lunch or dinner during your journey through the Tamar Valley. Timbre also has a great collection of kids options beyond the usual fare of nuggets & chips.

With such a wide range of white varietals on offer throughout the Tamar Valley we highly encourage you to hop in the car, or a local tour provider, to experience the best food experiences the region has to offer. Discover more venues at the Gourmakers website or download the Gourmakers app.
